Introduction
EVE OS minimizes data collection. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. We use Firebase by Google for account management and data storage, and third-party AI services for the chat assistant.
EVE OS is a website and set of tools for EVE Online players.
Data we collect
- Anonymous analytics. Google Analytics collects usage data for service improvement and does not identify you by name.
- Account information. If you register, we collect your email address, display name, and optional profile picture through Firebase Authentication, including when you sign in with Google. We use this to create and manage your account and to contact you about the account.
- Tool usage history. Signed-in users can store results from tools such as the price checker, D-scan analyzer, local intel, and crafting tools.
- EVE character connections. If you connect an EVE character, we store the character identifier, character name, corporation and alliance metadata, granted ESI scopes, and ESI access and refresh tokens so the features you authorize can keep working.
- Chat conversations. For signed-in users, EVE OS Agent stores messages, responses, tool results, conversation titles, and related context.
- Local browser storage. Anonymous users store tool data in the browser. That data stays on the device until the browser storage is cleared.
How we use Google user data
If you sign in with Google, EVE OS receives the basic profile information Firebase Authentication provides: your email address, display name, and profile photo if one is available. We use that information only to identify your EVE OS account, keep you signed in, and show your profile inside the product.
We do not use Google user data for advertising. We do not sell it. We do not use it to train generalized AI models. We do not share it with third parties except the service providers listed in this policy, and only so they can operate EVE OS.
Firebase and other Google services
For registered users, EVE OS stores account records, group membership, saved tool histories, linked EVE character metadata, ESI token references, signed-in chat history, and tool settings in Google Firebase. We also use Google Analytics for aggregated usage measurement, Google Cloud Storage for profile pictures, and Google Gemini on some chat-assistant responses. Access is limited by Firebase security rules. Traffic is encrypted with HTTPS.
Chat assistant and AI providers
Queries you send to EVE OS Agent may be processed by xAI (Grok), Google (Gemini), or OpenAI (GPT) under those providers own privacy policies. Signed-in chat history may also be stored in Firebase.
Retention
- Accounts are stored until you delete them.
- Tool histories keep the latest 50 entries per tool.
- Chat sessions stay until you delete them or delete your account.
- Linked characters and ESI tokens stay until you unlink the character or delete your account.
- Server logs are rotated and purged within 7 days.
Your choices
You can view account data in EVE OS, update your profile, export tool histories and settings, leave groups, unlink an EVE character, and delete your account. Unlinking a character deletes its stored token records. To ask for access, correction, or deletion, email [email protected].
EVE Online
Some features connect to EVE Online ESI. You authorize that access on CCP Games EVE SSO screen. We exchange the authorization code on our server.
Children
EVE OS is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
